Who Runs This Platform

SSC GPA CALCULATOR BD is maintained by an independent collective of Bangladeshi software engineers, academic mentors, and educational content researchers based in Dhaka. Having navigated the national secondary and higher secondary education curriculum firsthand, our team recognized a persistent issue every examination season: students and parents struggle with conflicting, buggy, or ad-cluttered GPA calculators that miscalculate board scores.

Our team focuses on building fast, lightweight, and mathematically rigorous educational utilities that run client-side without collecting sensitive student information or requiring intrusive registration.

Our Purpose & Mission

Our mission is to provide 100% transparent, accessible, and accurate academic calculation tools for every student in Bangladesh sitting for the Secondary School Certificate examination under the general education boards (Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Comilla, Barisal, Jessore, Sylhet, Dinajpur, and Mymensingh).

We aim to empower examinees to:

Estimate trial exam and pre-test performance: Determine exact grade points using actual numerical marks or letter grades before official board results are published.
Plan target grades: Calculate what scores are needed in specific compulsory subjects to reach an overall GPA 5.00.
Understand the 4th subject bonus: Demystify the 2.00 point deduction formula and see how optional subjects buffer core grades.

Calculation Methodology & Accuracy Standards

Our calculation algorithms strictly adhere to the regulatory framework codified by the Ministry of Education Bangladesh and the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB):

Standard 7-Tier Grading Scale80–100% (A+ / 5.0), 70–79% (A / 4.0), 60–69% (A- / 3.5), 50–59% (B / 3.0), 40–49% (C / 2.0), 33–39% (D / 1.0), 0–32% (F / 0.0).

4th Subject Bonus AlgorithmBonus = max(0, Optional Point - 2.00). Points earned above 2.00 are added directly to the 9 compulsory subjects sum.

Fixed Divisor RuleThe sum of compulsory points plus qualifying bonus is divided strictly by 9. The divisor does not increase when adding a 4th subject.

Maximum GPA Cap & Fail LogicTotal GPA cannot exceed 5.00. Scoring an F in any compulsory core subject results in total examination disqualification (GPA 0.00 / FAIL).

Correction & Syllabus Update Policy

Education policies and subject codes in Bangladesh periodically evolve. Whenever the Ministry of Education, NCTB, or any intermediate board issues an official circular modifying marks distribution, compulsory elective combinations, or evaluation metrics:

Verification: Our editorial team verifies the circular directly against official gazettes published on moedu.gov.bd or respective board websites.
Code Updates: Subject combinations, passing thresholds, and validation rules in our open configuration registry are updated immediately.
Public Response: Bug reports or syllabus correction suggestions submitted by users are typically reviewed and deployed within 24–48 hours.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the Ministry of Education Bangladesh or any official Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. To obtain official transcripts, verify certificates, or request board challenge re-evaluations, candidates must access authentic government portals such as educationboardresults.gov.bd.
